Spider Hunt Review
Paper Towns Short Review
I enjoyed the book overall, although there were some issues with the way the story was told and with the length of certain scenes, which were often too long. Spoiler-free summary: the book follows a group of high schoolers preparing to graduate, focusing on Quentin and Margo Roth Spiegelman. It begins with Quentin's longstanding infatuation with Margo from when they were younger and how that obsession has persisted. Over the course of the novel we explore identity and how a person's sense of self is shaped by those around them. The book reads partly like a mystery novel, but it's not a puzzle you can solve—note-taking won't help, because the mystery is deliberately constructed to resist logical resolution. The real mystery is who these characters truly are and how different perspectives lead to different conclusions.
